Track 11. Our Father.

Mattithyahu/Matthew 6:9-13

We are taught by Yahushua to honour the Name of our Father. However, in many translations of Mattithyahu 6:9, the word ‘hallowed’, has been used. This term is derived from the word ‘halo,’ and is associated with sun worship. This is why ‘Church idols’ are historically depicted in artwork with a nimbus or halo above their heads. The word ‘holy,’ shares the same corrupted root. Another error of translation is the phrase ‘lead us not into temptation.’ As Yahuweh, our Father, tempts no one, (Ya‘aqob/James 1:13), this misrepresents His character, and violates the third commandment (Debarim/Dueteronomy 5:11). The Institute for Scripture Research interprets this passage: ‘lead us not into trial.’

This agrees with the sentiment of Yohanan/John 5:24: “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My Word and believes in Him who sent Me possesses everlasting life, and does not come into judgment/trial, but has passed from death into life.”

Revelation 20:12 ‘ . . . and the dead were judged from what was written in the books, according to their works.’

Also, Mark 14:38 “Watch and pray, lest you enter into trial. The spirit indeed is eager, but the flesh is weak.”
