The blessing for the children of Yisra'el.

Bemidbar/Numbers 6:24-26

When Adam and Hawwah/Eve disobeyed Yahuweh, they died spiritually and dominion over the earth passed from them, into enemy hands. Satan became known as the ruler of this world. (Bereshith/Genesis chapters 1-3, Luke 4:6, Yohanan/John 12:31, 14:30, 16:11, 1 Yohanan/John 5:19). As Adam’s spiritual relationship with Yahuweh had been ruptured, his issue, the whole of mankind, were consequently born of the flesh, but not of the Spirit of Yahuweh. Physically they were alive, but spiritually they were dead.

To rescue mankind, Yahuweh selected Abraham as an obedient and trusting man with whom to form a Covenant People, Yisra’el, and promised him a son. Although he and his wife were too old to have children naturally, yet, Abraham believed Yahuweh, and this was reckoned unto him as righteousness. (Bereshith/Genesis 15:2-6, Galatians 3:6-9). Yahuweh then tested the covenant with Abraham by requiring him to make an offering of Yitshaq/Isaac, his son, on Mount Moriyah (Calvary). As Abraham proved to be loyal, Yitshaq was spared, and Abraham was told:

“And in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.” Bereshith/Genesis 22:18.

The seed referred to, is the Messiah Yahushua, the only Son of His Father, who was offered on Calvary (Mount Moriah) in place of Yitshaq.

Yahushua was born of the Spirit of Elohim, to Miryam, a Hebrew maiden betrothed to Yoseph, a descendant of Abraham. (Mattithyahu 1:16-18). The Messiah therefore, inherited neither the bloodline, nor the sin of Adam. By believing in Yahushua Messiah, as Abraham believed in Yahuweh, we are reckoned to be righteous in the sight of Elohim and receive the gift of His Spirit. We step out of death, into life, and our relationship with our Father in Heaven is secured. (Galatians 3:7-14, Yohanan/John 5:24).

Once grafted into the nation of Yisra’el (the name means ‘to overcome/to triumph through El’), we become eligible to receive the blessing for the Children of Yisra’el, and we observe the everlasting sign of the covenant between Yahuweh and His people, the keeping of the Sabbath:

“And the children of Yisra’el shall guard the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as an everlasting covenant.” Shemoth/Exodus 31:16.

“So there remains a Sabbath keeping for the people of Elohim.” Ibrim/Hebrews 4:9.

“Whoever, then, breaks one of the least of these commands, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the reign of the heavens; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the reign of the heavens.” Mattithyahu 5:19.

Note: When the new heavens and earth are made, the Sabbath will continue to be observed by the people who obey Yahuweh. Those who transgress will die. See Yeshayahu/Isaiah 66:22-24.
